Landis+Gyr and CURRENT Group Announce Industrial Partnership Agreement to Deliver Smart Metering and Smart Grid Solutions to Spain and Portugal
Cooperation agreement will enable the deployment of smart, fully open and interoperable end-to-end energy management solutions in Portugal and Spain, two of Europe’s fastest growing smart grid markets.
The partnership embeds CURRENT’s PRIME standards-based software into Landis+Gyr’s Gridstreamtm solution portfolio delivering an interoperable system, key to offering future multi-energy solutions to Iberian Peninsula markets.
CURRENT® System Optimization solutions enable utilities to adjust voltage and other grid operating characteristics based on real-time conditions throughout the distribution system. Distributed intelligent sensors provide a real-time feed to the OpenGrid platform where it is combined with geospatial, asset, SCADA and other operational data from capacitor banks, substations and other grid devices to determine the correct action to optimize the voltage or VAR control dynamically throughout the day.
